The Great STEM Road Trip Across America!
Welcome to The Great STEM Road Trip—an unforgettable learning adventure across all 50 states!
Students travel from state to state, discovering the geography, landmarks, industries, natural resources, inventions, and people that make each place unique. Every stop introduces a real-world STEM mission inspired by that state.
Along the journey, students might design a flood-resistant city, develop a better transportation system, create wildlife habitats, investigate renewable energy, improve farming, or invent tools that help people solve everyday problems.
Each state includes a collection of engaging learning resources:
- An introduction to the state
- A real-world STEM mission
- Educational videos
- Virtual field trips and webcams
- A featured STEM hero
- Recommended books and videos
- State-inspired recipes
- Printable Travel Journal pages
- Opportunities to research, design, build, and create
The Great STEM Road Trip combines geography with science, technology, engineering, creativity, and problem-solving. Students are encouraged to think like inventors—not simply memorize facts.
The experience is completely self-paced, allowing families to visit the states in order or choose the destinations that most interest their child. Projects can be adapted using materials already available at home.
Pack your imagination and get ready to explore America—one state and one big STEM challenge at a time!
