Challenge: Design a Graphic T-Shirt That Tells Your Story
In this creative entrepreneurship Challenge, Trainees will go from idea to impact as they work through a simplified business plan to design, create, and promote their own custom t-shirt. Whether it’s a bold message, a favorite cause, or a quirky design—this is your chance to wear your passion on your sleeve… literally!
The graphic t-shirt industry is booming, with projected growth of $3.5 billion by 2028. T-shirts are more than just fashion—they’re a platform to share your voice. From branding a product, supporting a club, or raising awareness for an issue, there are endless reasons to design your own tee.
What Trainees Will Do:
DESIGN a one-of-a-kind graphic t-shirt based on something meaningful to them
LEARN the basics of business planning—from idea generation to product pitch
DEVELOP real-world skills in creativity, branding, marketing, and presentation
Built for All Ages
Like all of our Challenges, this activity can be adapted for a variety of ages and learning styles.
-
Our Trainee test group ranged from ages 7 to 14, with some as young as 5 completing the Challenge with help.
-
Parents often jump in too—learning alongside their students as creative collaborators!
Younger Trainees may need assistance, while older students (12+) can complete the challenge independently and are encouraged to dive deeper into the process with more professional-level presentations.
We don’t just teach kids to make things—we teach them how to think through ideas, develop solutions, and express themselves confidently.
Because no matter your age, turning an idea into something real is a skill worth learning.
Ready to take your idea from imagination to creation?
Let’s make it happen—one t-shirt at a time.
